1. Kim Kardashian will be shutting down — and rebranding — KKW Beauty.

This will all go down come 1 August. The KUWTK star broke the news via Instagram, whereupon she assured fans that she will be back with a “completely new brand.” Users can expect “new formulas that are modern, innovative and packaged in an elevated and sustainable new look.” Rumours are rife that the decision to re-launch has largely to do with Kardashian’s divorce with West; a handy way to drop the “W” in her company’s name. However, this was disputed by a source close to KKW Beauty, as conveyed to WWD. We suppose we’ll just have to wait and see for what’s in store.

2. James Charles is under fire for dropping an inappropriate apology video.

Oops, he’s done it again. The infamous beauty YouTuber has come under fire once more — this time, for creating an insensitive video addressing his various sexual misconduct demeanors. Instead of making a tearful apology, Charles spoke about these accusations while doing his makeup, utilising a “Get Ready With Me” format that was completely at odds with the seriousness of the conversation. Eep. Beyond the implication that Charles is making light of the situation, his tone within the video also suggests a blasé attitude regarding the allegations. All in all? Not great, folks.

3. Yara Shahidi is named Dior’s latest beauty and fashion ambassador.

Yes, both. The Black-ish actress commemorated the occasion with an Instagram video of her donning Dior threads while lounging upon a rock – of which was paired with a caption that expressed Shahidi’s excitement at joining the Dior family. “Can you spot the NEWEST @dior GLOBAL ambassador for BOTH beauty AND fashion,” she wrote, following it with a string of heart and eye emojis. She then ended off the post with an apt, “#letsgetit.” Get it, indeed.

4. Benefit and Crocs have partnered up to launch some new kicks.

It will be available in two styles. First up: the Classic Clog, which can be adorned with Jibbitz (i.e. charms) featuring glitter and gem accents. Then there’s the Classic Sandal; an open-toe shoe that comes with a two-strap slide that can be decked out in various Jibbitz attachments, too. Get your paws on them 13 July when they launch officially on the Crocs site.

5. Notorious scammer, Caroline Calloway, has entered the beauty space.

The controversial influencer proclaims that she has the skin “of a viral 18-year-old TikToker” — of which she credits to special face oil concoctions that will now be available for sale. Titled Snake Oil, it comprises grapeseed oil, clary sage, sandalwood, pomegranate seeds, and lemon peel oil; a youth potion developed to counteract both ageing and acne. The reviews as to its legitimacy aren’t in just yet, but we’ll keep you folks updated.

6. Rare Beauty will make its grand debut in Singapore Sephora stores.

With a staggering 133 offerings available right at the get-go, it’s safe to say that beauty buffs will be spoilt for choice. The diverse label will hit shelves beginning 15 July, with each product delivering upon an “unique sensorial story.” Start readying those credit cards, we say.
