If there’s one key defining element that’s been prevalent since Hedi Slimane stepped in and took over creative reins of CELINE, it’s the Triomphe motif. The connected double-C emblem has been around since 1972 and is inspired by the chain links around the Arc de Triomphe in Paris — hence the name.

The Triomphe is displayed in its full glory on a selection of CELINE’s leather bags and accessories that was first launched in 2018St. It’s a personal favourite because of the juxtaposition of a Neoclassical design detail with Slimane’s penchant for sharp, clean lines. And save for the sans serif logo, the Triomphe is pretty much the only other CELINE emblem.

Building on that now-recognisable signature of the brand, the new CELINE Maillon Triomphe jewellery collection centres around the motif albeit in a much smaller nature. The collection focuses on the link, stripping away any unnecessary ornamentation. The pieces are pure and simple in design in the same way that the brand’s ready-to-wear collection is often understated too.

The CELINE Maillon Triomphe is crafted in yellow gold with diamond pavé options available. Choose from a range of pieces including a dainty necklace with the Triomphe link front and centre, as well as a slightly more elaborate piece in the form of a Triomphe embedded sautoir measuring about 106cm in total. The collection’s minimal design allows for easy layering with multiple other Maillon Triomphe pieces (or other jewellery in your arsenal) or just simply on its own.
