October is upon us, which marks the beginning of ~spooky szn~. And while Singapore might not emit fall vibes typically associated with the month, it doesn’t mean that you can’t indulge in some Halloween fun. In our case, we’re going to be adorning our miens in all manner of face paint to transform ourselves entirely. From pop-cultural icons to revamped classics, we’ve rounded up several the greatest Halloween makeup looks inspired by the best of what 2021 had to offer — so far, at least. Whip ’em brushes out, and let’s get to painting.

Squid Game’s red light green light doll

Squid Game is, arguably, 2021’s breakout series of the year. It’s hard to decide which challenge was our favourite of the lot, though if there’s one thing we’re sure about, it is that the show’s red light green light doll was the creepiest part of the entire series. Tiktok creator @ur_fujicko recreated the iconic doll using makeup in her trending video.

@ur_fujickoWe’ve spend 10 hours for this video, Please don’t let this flop✨ ##ur_fujicko ##squidgame♬ original sound – Fujicko 👑

Cruella de Vil

It’s apt timing as any, seeing how Emma Stone’s Cruella re-telling has a sequel in the works. And while Cruella’s pre-fur coat era is filled with punk-neo liner and statement lips, we say you should opt for the conventional route and emulate her look from the animated Disney rendition. This bright green shadow look is sure to turn heads — and don’t forget to add some Dalmatian spots while you’re at it.

Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus is back in the limelight thanks to its upcoming sequel slated to release in Fall of 2022. If you’re like us and have waited for this moment since 1993, we say it’s no better time to keep the fandom alive. Attempt this look yourself, or  perhapsgather two other pals to create your very own Sanderson sister coven.

Olivia Rodigro

Scary not up your alley? Recreate Olivia Rodrigo’s chart topping Sour album cover look just like Canadian content creator @Laurdiy. All you need are some cute, colourful stickers, an impressive lash game, as well as a glossy lip.
