Buro. Shops: Limited Edt's Mandeep Chopra's 5 essential things

It’s common knowledge that online shopping is one of our favourite national pastimes. However, over the last few years, it has transcended leisure to become a sport amongst hypebeasts, collectors, and bots as they battle it out for the latest limited-edition streetwear drops and designer collabs. There’s no better event to witness this growing street culture movement in Singapore than at Culture Cartel. Taking place from 6 to 8 December 2019, the convention will feature the hottest labels and some of the most sought-after objects across fashion, sneakers, and toys alongside insightful dialogues with the industry’s thought leaders. Here, Mandeep Chopra, founder of sneaker retailer Limited Edt and one of the key proponents of Culture Cartel, lets us in on a few of his most essential and desirable items at the moment.

G-SHOCK x Crash x Stash Timepiece
Two graffiti legends, Crash and Stash, collaborated with G-Shock to create this watch. It will be launching at Culture Cartel 2019. I like the minimalist black watch face, bezel, and straps because the iconic graffiti styles of both artists really come through. The pop of red is also a nice touch. Stash is a good friend of mine, so I’ll be getting this one for sure.
A sneaker has to be on my list. I’ve been wanting to kickstart my fitness journey so this upcoming launch with Neighbourhood and Adidas should be a good starting point. It has a sleek look with its monochromatic colour scheme and minimalist text logo, but it boasts the high-performance, functionality, and comfort of a classic UltraBoost.
Bronze Hourglass
The Hour Glass is celebrating their 40th anniversary this year and they collaborated with NYC-based contemporary street artist, Danial Arsham, to create this commemorative hourglass piece. I wouldn’t call myself an avid art collector, but I’m a fan of Daniel Arsham’s works and concepts, so this one’s definitely on my list.
FL-001 Pointman Figure Gray
Futura aka Lenny McGurr is truly the godfather of graffiti, and one of the OGs of street culture. I’ve been wanting to cop this Pointman Figure, but they somehow always sell out before his exhibitions and shows. I recently went to his exhibition, 'Futura Generation Z' in Tokyo and it was already sold out before the opening day. So unless you have friends in high places or if you know the big man yourself, the secondary market is your best bet.
Galaxy Fold
I’ve always been an Android and Samsung guy. I've never owned an iPhone and don’t think I ever will! I've been hearing some buzz about the Galaxy Fold and my phone is due for a change, so I might check it out. The huge screen is supposedly great for productivity and multi-tasking, and its battery is Samsung’s biggest.
