Getting sartorial: We #LFWM with five watches matched to our favourite street style looks
Stand still, look sharp
London Fashion Week Men's pretty much took over social media feeds the past week as the SS18 fashion season kicked off, and even the quieter haute horlogerie end of Buro hasn't gone by unaffected. You know, when you have the fashion team foaming at the mouth and working feverishly at their desks surrounded by empty cups of coffee, your curiosity is definitely peaked. Clicking in to have a look-see at the LFWM coverage, it was the street style round up that got us with all that artful layering and accessorising. Thus, our inner watch stylist has awakened. Here we suss out five of our favourite LFWM street style looks and the watches that go with 'em like white on rice.
And ICYMI, these looks are totally dad-friendly. What with Father's Day coming up, why not appoint yourself as the personal shopper to your pops and get him outfitted to slay with these stylish choices? Right? Right.
1. Keep it classy
Seriously, what goes better with that beige-camel palette than a timeless piece like the IWC Schaffhausen Portofino Hand-Wound Pure Classic in a red gold case with dark brown alligator leather strap by Santoni? Also, sweater vests are cool again.
2. Minimalist but structural
We'd like to call this look the 'hipster dad'. Laidback but still very put together with smart tailoring and lines, just like this Ulysse Nardin Executive Skeleton Tourbillon.
Nothing says style cred like working an outfit that pairs plaid trousers with a palm-patterned button down in eye-popping blue. And since you're already there, go all the way with Hublot's Chronograph Italia Independent Pieds-de-Poule in titanium.
4. Black and white
We tip our hats off to the men who can pull off the intentionally creased linen look (like fathers who just can't get the hang of ironing) but it's the head-to-toe in shades of white that made us look closer. Monochrome accessorising immediately comes to mind with the Hermès Cape Cod GM in matte black. Double tour strap, of course.
5. Everything is blue
Said Halsey and Glashütte Original. You got it, we're talking about that famous and unique shade found on the Senator Chronometer's varnished blue-grainé dial, equipped with a small seconds function and a power reserve display. Hello, style and substance.
