The Zenith El Primero gets styled via collaborators Bamford Watch Department and Fragment
There's a new precedent for major collaborations, and it's bespoke watch customisation meets hype fashion meets haute horlogerie. A killer trifecta brought about by the LVMH group following the luxury giant's acquisition of Bamford Watch Department (BWD) as its official customiser last year, the iconic Zenith El Primero now debuts a fresh iteration that sees BWD and Fragment putting their stylistic touches on the timepiece.
Uniquely simple yet stylishly striking à la the modern aesthetic of Fragment's Hiroshi Fujiwara, a matte black-and-white dial captures the eye, framed by a stainless steel case with a matching bracelet that simultaneously evokes a vintage appeal. Sized at 42mm, the chronograph complication is displayed on the reverse panda-esque watch face with a 12-hour counter at the 6 o'clock mark, and the 30-minute and small seconds indicator at 3 and 9 o'clock respectively. Powered by the El Primero 400B Automatic movement — another precise series-made calibre by Zenith — the watch made its exclusive worldwide launch with Dover Street Market, officiated by George Bamford himself at the Singapore store. Backed by such cachet, this could well be the most covetable El Primero everybody and the fash pack will be wanting faster than you can say 'street style'.
The Bamford Watch Department x Fragment Zenith El Primero is available at Dover Street Market Singapore.
