Vacheron Constantin's Métiers d'Art The legend of the Chinese zodiac series continues
Year of the Monkey
As the year of the Goat is coming to a close, Swiss watchmaker Vacheron Constantin releases a timely addition to its Métiers d'Art The legend of the Chinese zodiac series in lieu of the Chinese New Year. A collector's timepiece, the golden or platinum monkey watch is limited to 12 pieces per variation.
Modelled after a technical excellence that is the Caliber 2460 G4, these highly coveted creations are furthered with artistic craft. Master engravers put their skills to test by not only carving the monkey, but more so semi-embedding a foliage motif encircling the zodiac to create a depth effect. Enamellers then applied the Grand Feu technique — a rare skill amongst artisan — of applying successive layers of enamel to intensify the blue and bronze dials.
Though ornate, these beauties are far from mere ornaments. A true champion for haute horlogerie, Vacheron Constantin's creations are fine representations of savoir-faire. With every component passing the Hallmark of Geneva's stringent criteria, quality assurance is but a given.
The Métiers d'Art The legend of the Chinese zodiac series is available in Vacheron Constantin boutiques at ION Orchard and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
