Check out State Property's latest bejewelled creation, Udan Liris, inspired by Indonesian batik

We're all for supporting local, and that badge is now proudly going places as homegrown retailer and jeweller State Property makes its first foray into the Indonesian market on the occasion of the RISING 50 fashion initiative. Held at Galeries Lafayette in Jakarta, the event marks 50 years of relations between our nations, and in staying true to the theme, State Property has launched an exclusive 3-piece jewellery collection inspired by Indonesian batik.

Translated to mean 'drizzling rain' in English, Udan Liris draws inspiration from Indonesia's native batik craft, with the collection based off a diagonal lereng motif. A historically significant pattern that symbolises fertility, determination and gratitude, it was one of four traditional designs used exclusively by the Sultan and the royal family in the 18th century. Featuring neat rows slanted at a 45-degree angle, the geometric lines are prominently exhibited in a 3-piece capsule edit, embellished with baguette-cut sapphires that play off the polish of the 18K rose gold material to capture the richness of royal Indonesian batik. This is the saying 'something old, something new' given a re-defined spin.

The Udan Liris collection is available exclusively at RISING 50 at Galeries Lafayette in Pacific Place, Jakarta from 1 to 31 August. Thereafter, it will be available online and at the State Property boutique.
