Parmigiani Fleurier releases a Montreux Jazz Festival 2016 edition watch
For vinyl aficionados
This year, the Montreux Jazz Festival marks its 50th running year of incredible music reservoir. The festival has puts its name on the map, having played host to legendary artists: The late Prince, David Bowie and Freddie Mercury amongst others. Currently held at the shoreline of Lake Geneva, Montreux Jazz Festival 2016 boasts big names and indies alike, such as Lana Del Rey and M83.
It has become an annual tradition for the Parmigiani Fleurier maison to honour the musical festivity with a limited edition watch inspired by the festival's yearly poster. For the 2016 edition, artist Giovanni Riva recomposed the logo with fragments of the 49 preceding posters, laid out in chronological order on a royal blue background.
Echoing this poster, the Swiss watchmaker has created a special rendition of the Tonda Métrographe model with its dial and leather strap in the same shade of blue. Artisans crafted the dial to replicate the groovy texture of a vinyl's surface. The back of the silver case is emblazoned with Riva's handwritten logo with an engraving: '50ème anniversaire' in homage of the musical affair's golden milestone. Strap on the Parmigiani Special Edition Tonda Métro MJF and wear your love for music on your wrist. Loud and proud.
The Parmigiani Special Edition Tonda Métro MJF is available at The Hour Glass boutiques.
