Omega gives its iconic Speedmaster timepiece a new coat of colour
Teasing the crowds ahead of Baselworld 2017, Omega presents with a flourish the iconic Speedmaster in a spanking new collection that sees this recognised chronograph dressed in a fresh hue. Sized at a new 38mm diametre that trims the timepiece into a more polished profile whilst still retaining its heritage hallmarks, the maison has lovingly nicknamed the model 'Cappuccino' in light of its taupe brown appearance. One of many new novelties, this decidedly feminine rendition features a diamond-paved bezel that circles around its aluminium tachymetre scale, a dual design that adds a touch of elegance to the watch's athletic codes.
Encased within these two rings is a unique bi-coloured dial contrasted with oval-shaped sub-dials in brown. And if this trio of smaller dials echoes a familiar feeling, it would be because they closely resemble Omega's brand logo — an understated detail that further elevates the chronograph's sophistication. Driven by a calibre 3330 movement developed in-house with co-axial technology and a silicon balance, the intricate watchmaking extends even to the caseback, which has been embellished with the manufacture's iconic seahorse medallion. Talk about a great classic tastefully redefined.
