Montblanc’s 4810 collections counts three new additions among its novelties
Any Montblanc fan knows the historical significance behind the numbers '4810', and in keeping true to its heritage, the maison has launched three additions to the name that revives its watchmaking traditions in a blend of old and new. Introducing the 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim and the 4810 Dual Time, the manufacture builds on its bedrock novelty following the collection's successful 2016 debut. The continuity sees new features supplementing the characteristic details such as the guilloché dials, exploding Montblanc star pattern and of course, the patented exotourbillon construction.
With the 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim, red and white gold stylish options make up two of the three new-in timepieces. And while it's a dead ringer appearance-wise for its predecessor, a quick stop-second function has been added, allowing the wearer to set the time to the exact second while ensuring an immediate restart of the mechanical movement. Montblanc's cutting-edge know-how means the quick stop-second instantly halts the balance from swinging and throwing off the precision, no matter how you adjust your watch.
Further upgrading the 4810's functionality, the new Dual Time with a 24-hour sub-dial and a day/night indicator chalks up a first for collection. Especially designed for modern travellers, a skeletonised regated-shaped home time pointer is set in the centre of the dial and highlighted in a blue colour to distinguish it from the local hour hand, coming into play when the local time is set to the destination's time zone — all without affecting the home time marker. The minutes and seconds will also continue to run without interruption during the setting process, plus the date display is linked to the local time, making this timepiece an efficient travel watch that'll keep you oriented on the go.
The new 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim and the 4810 Dual Time are available at Montblanc boutiques.
