Check out the Nura and Baja bracelets with their rockin’ re-designs for FW18, as well as the inspiration behind the collections
The first thing to pop into your head when we say 'word association game' and 'Monica Vinader' is usually friendship bracelet, amirite? No surprise there, since the It-Brit jewellery brand has pretty much cornered the market when it comes to this particular piece of wrist candy. And while the Fiji might be the design most folks are familiar with and tend to gravitate towards (because people are habitual creatures that way), the Nura and Baja collections are up there in the circle of friendship too.
Now given a re-interpretation to enhance the signature Monica Vinader bracelet silhouette, these babies are ever more elegant and effortlessly chic. They'll make great stacking buddies with the Fiji you're currently wearing too. Just take a gander below at the latest edition of the Baja and Nura, and you'll find yourself cherry-picking the pieces you want.
THE NEW BAJA Say hello to a new gemstone cut defined by hexagonal facets. This style is also the first to debut blue quartz gemstones among all of the Monica Vinader collections. Inspired by modernist architecture, specifically the cascading roof at London's King's Cross Station by British architect John McAslan, this season's Baja is all about that bold, multi-faceted profile that's eye-catchingly striking in both colour and form.
THE NEW NURA While we said 're-interpretation', we meant it as a euphemism for 'anniversary' because the Nura bracelet is marking the brand's 10th birthday this year. Designed by founders and sisters Monica and Gabriela, this is the iconic piece that jumpstarted their popular in-house jewellery personalisation service. As such, the re-issue features a large polished surface to let you go wild with extended messages and quotes, designating this bracelet to be your ultimate meaningful 'wear everywhere' piece.
The FW18 Baja collection is available from 21 June at Monica Vinader boutiques, while the Nura collection will be available from 5 July.
