More than just a watch: The Hermès Arceau Pocket la promenade de Platon
Into the wild
Finding inspiration from within this 2016, Hermès seeks the vibrant visuals of lush foliage and wildlife from their La Promenade de Platon silk scarves. Initially composed by French artist Annie Faivre, the arresting imagery — of majestic stallions careening through autumnal landscapes — have been transposed on refined, 48mm white gold bases using Grand Feu enamel techiques.
Each resembling fine art masterpieces rather than ornamental decoratives, it entails a labourous craft process of repeated shading and kiln re-firing — all in the name of accentuating details with utmost subtley. Backed by a power reserve of 50 hours, they're good for more than just telling time. These pocket watches also double up as intriguing conversation starters, nostalgic slivers of the past, and above all: Portable artwork mirroring the untameable nature of time.
The three Arceau Pocket La promenade de Platon watches are one-of-a-kind models subject to availability at Hermès Watch boutiques.
