A floral seduction: The Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Water Lily
For the ladies
Take time to stop and smell the lilies — or in this case, revering the lilies would be more accurate. Appropriating the old adage, one should enjoy and appreciate the finer things in life so as to attain fulfillment. This couldn't be more than true for Girard-Perregaux as they present the Cat's Eye Water Lily timepiece in the lead-up to their 225th anniversary.
A decidedly feminine watch of the floral persuasion, this ravishing timepiece is a new addition to the iconic Cat's Eye collection the maison is renowned for. Set within its unique oval frame is a dial comprised of 412 brilliant diamonds, and amongst this glittering backdrop are two delicate water lily blooms with petals of marquise-cut gems in either pink sapphires or emeralds. Reflecting a pond's surface with floating water lilies — for which the flower's origins traces back to the Greek word 'nymphaea' in reference to the mythical female water spirit — this luxurious timepiece is as bewitching as its namesake.
Beyond the seductive dazzle of its diamond-studded face, the Cat's Eye Water Lily also boasts an in-house manufactured GP03300-0101 movement, an ultra-thin mechanism specially adapted to the watch's distinct oval case. Polished with a straight-grained finish on the mainplate and bridges, and ornamented with a Côtes de Genève motif, this hallmark haute horlogerie is the adulation to the beauty and allure of femininity.
The Cat's Eye Water Lily is available at the Girard-Perregaux boutique.
