Time to speed up with Bell & Ross’ BR126 Renault Sport 40th Anniversary
Off to the races
All of us this side of the equator know what it means when September rolls around — no, we're not talking FW fashion week (although that counts too). Formula 1 season is right at our doorstep this time of year and though it's still early days, we're sounding off the race with the first contender, the Bell & Ross BR126 Renault Sport 40th Anniversary.
Fittingly, this timepiece is one that rocks a vintage aesthetic that harkens back to F1's days of yore, sporting a black and yellow dial inspired by the Renault Sport Formula One Team's vehicle, circa 1970. From car body to watch body, the push buttons and the horns look the retro part, accompanied by rubber straps embossed with a design that resemble tyre treads. Even the indices run on a yellow track reminiscent of the race machine's hatched decoration, and provides an optimised read-off when the chronograph is activated. Denoted by two sub-dial counters — a 60-second gauge at 3 o'clock and a 30-minute indicator at 9 o'clock — a pair of historic logos feature beneath the chronograph function, symbolising '70s era Renault and the iconic F1 checkered flag. Running on the BR-CAL.301 automatic mechanical movement encased within a stain-finish steel frame, the 40th anniversary timepiece tribute to Renault's race legacy additionally comes in a limited 170 pieces to tally with its victories in Formula 1.
The BR126 Renault Sport 40th Anniversary is available at Bell & Ross boutiques, limited to 170 pieces.
