See Elle Fanning break out her moves in Tiffany & Co.’s spring campaign, Believe in Dreams
As if there wasn't already enough acting talent in her pinky finger, Elle Fanning now proves she can jive and hold a tune. In Tiffany & Co's latest spring campaign, Believe in Dreams, the actress not only lends her vocals to the opening refrain of an original hip hop rendition of 'Moon River' by A$AP Ferg, she stars as the titular heroine dancing her way across New York.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the man behind Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay parts 1 and 2, the short film captures the idea that New York City is where dreams come true. It starts with Fanning staring longingly into the jewellery house's Fifth Avenue windows à la Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's until a fluttery twinkle captures her eye and her imagination. Her world then bursts into a rush of colour and sound, transforming into a music video as Fanning moves her Tiffany-bejewelled self — wearing the new Paper Flowers collection by Reed Karkoff — to the rhythm at Big Apple landmark icons such as the Brooklyn Bridge and a subway station.
Certainly a more hipster direction for the traditionally glamorous brand, embarking on this fun and youthful escapade where something old (some serious Audrey Hepburn throwbacks) meets something new (why hello there, millennials Elle and Maddie) is still at its core very Tiffany. As said by chief artistic officer, Reed Krakoff: "We wanted to take a fresh approach to the campaign, juxtaposing something visually extraordinary with a song that is a nostalgic nod to the past combined with something wholly unexpected and of the moment."
The campaign also marks the first time Tiffany & Co. has ever created a song, recorded together by A$AP Ferg and Fanning, which is available on Spotify — you know, if you want to put it on repeat. Time to crack out your dancing shoes and dream big.
The Tiffany Paper Flower collection will launch in September. Moon River by A$AP Ferg and Elle Fanning is available to stream here.
