The Dutch rose

Damiani presents the rose cut diamonds

Damiani's Juliette series will have the ladies in love. Centered around one of the oldest cuts for diamonds, the Dutch rose cut is named for its close resemblance to the rose bud. Dating back to the 16th century, the particular cut is related to and revisits the tale of the Gran Mogol diamond — a story of how a cutter could transform a rough stone into a gem of 280 carats.

Charming us all, the beauty of the Juliette line lies in the combination of the rose cut diamond and the particular pattern it is set in. The light semicircles combines end-of-the-century architectural details, suggestive of the Orient together with Art Nouveau rigour and lightness, making apparent the craftsmanship and originality of the Italian jeweller. Instilling the grandeur of the Gran Mogol into the collection, the luxury jewellery brand introduces a trilogy to Juliette — a necklace and pendant, a bracelet and two pairs of earrings, in variations of a chandelier and a precious drop.

The Juliette collection is available at Damiani boutiques, located at #01-10, Scotts Square and #B2-79, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
