Everybody loves to travel but only a few have managed to be so inspired by this passion as to create something meaningful out of it – and for charity. Paige Parker is one such talented individual. The Singapore-based socialite, who had in October this year launched her much-awaited travel memoir entitled Don't Call Me Mrs Rogers, has collaborated with home-grown jewellery brand Carrie K on a special collection.

Aptly named Journey, it takes inspiration from Parker's epic Guinness World Record road trip which covered 116 countries over six continents in three years. In the book, the philanthropist and trained gemmologist details her voyage and the turning point that motivated her to stop being a passenger and take control of life.

Wishing to instil this value in her children – she has two daughters – Parker worked with Carrie K whose penchant for creating versatile modern heirlooms that tell meaningful stories laid the foundations for the Journey collection.

Featuring visual icons of compasses, gyroscopes and globes, the pieces are crafted in 925 silver, 9k and 18k gold, and studded with gemstones that hold special meaning to Parker and founder of Carrie K, Carolyn Kan. They include red garnet, blue topaz, moonstone, and green onyx – symbols of passion, courage, strength and protection.

There is a strong empowering message behind the creations, which are designed as little reminders to the people who wear them not to forget to encourage others, and also themselves, to take charge of their lives.

Many of the pieces are sold separately but yet are compatible with one another, so you can combine multiple bracelets to connect seamlessly into a choker or necklace. You could also choose to wear the necklace as a sautoir or a choker with a drop detail. In some pieces, the feature motif doubles up as a clasp and the centrepiece. Earrings, too, can be mixed and matched or worn singly.

Carrie K and Paige Parker have pledged 50 per cent of all proceeds from the Journey collection to the Singapore Committee for UN Women. This organisation runs programmes that empower women through education and job opportunities.

The Carrie K X Paige Parker Journey collection is available at Carrie K. Fine Jewellery Atelier located at #02-02 National Design Centre. A made-to-order option is also available for customers who purchase 9kt or 18kt gold pieces. Choose from 17 gem selections including topaz, quartz, amethyst, peridot, garnet, moonstone and tiger eye at no additional cost.
