Blancpain honours the year of the Monkey with a limited edition timepiece: The Traditional Chinese Calendar watch from their Villeret collection

Paying respect to Chinese culture and the ancient edicts of the lunar calendar is Blancpain as they unveil the Traditional Chinese Calendar. Going beyond an ordinary timepiece, this limited edition watch ascribes this year's Monkey zodiac with its rightful place among the most superior of horological triumphs.

A modern translation of the Chinese lunar calendar, the finely wrought wristwatch is based on the primary beliefs of Chinese tradition and features the western Gregorian calendar side-by-side with the Chinese calendar. This fascinating dual-dial face is also fitted with the five elements and the 12 zodiac signs, both central to Chinese culture.

Powered by a self-winding calibre 3638 and fitted with a cabochon-cut ruby on the crown, the watch also embodies classic essences of Blancpain's Villeret collection. Its dial is crafted in the Grand Feu enamel technique with a double-stepped shape and the unique serpentine blued steel date pointer. Truly a sincere representation of cultural customs fused with the finest of Blancpain's watchmaking complexity.

The Traditional Chinese Calendar watch is available at the Blancpain Boutique at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Limited to 36 pieces.
