A. Lange & Söhne presents a timepiece of astronomical proportions with the Lange 1 Moon Phase

Moongazing takes on a new facet with a fresh rendition of A. Lange & Söhne's Lange 1 collection, as the maison debuts an innovative movement in the celebrated complication. Combining a moon phase function with a day and night indicator, the timepiece flaunts a new design concept that tracks the lunar cycle with an unerring accuracy that requires adjusting only once in 122.6 years. Displayed in a separate aperture that peers into a solid gold moon orbiting to the hours of the day — cleverly integrated with the day-to-night indicator reflected in the shifting hue of the sky — the new Lange 1 is intricacy beating to the tune of the Lange calibre L121.3.

Built upon its predecessor two years prior, the enhanced manually wound movement includes the German watchmaker's signature twin mainspring barrel for a long-lived 72-hour power reserve and superior shock resistance. Driving a host of utilities including its moon phase function, day and night indicator, a jumping date display as well as the hours and minutes finely etched upon a 38.5mm silvered dial, the A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Moon Phase is a true luminary in the field of astronomical complications.

The Lange 1 Moon Phase is available at the A. Lange & Söhne boutique at Ion Orchard, #02-05A.
