Expanding the Big Pilot’s Watch family in more ways than one, IWC Schaffhausen introduces two new models to the collection

Everyone loves a great classic, and horology is no different. For a timepiece that comes off utterly sophisticated with that vintage touch, the Big Pilot's Watches from IWC Schaffhausen has always been the go-to. Testament to its timelessness, the maison now launches two new novelties under its name. Presenting the 'Antoine de Saint Exupéry' Big Pilot's Watch Annual Calendar Edition — to highlight the brand's longstanding partnership with the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Foundation — and a recreated icon in the form of the Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Heritage, your options for a spiffy aviation-inspired timepiece just got upgraded:

1. Big Pilot's Watch Annual Calendar Edition 'Antoine de Saint Exupéry'
The latest rendition of the special edition piece, this year's 'Antoine de Saint-Exupéry' Big Pilot's Watch sees the signature tobacco brown dial offset by a gleaming 18K red gold case. A brown calfskin straps delineated by white stitching completes the watch — an aesthetic reminiscent of the flight suits from the era of the French pilot and author. An annual calendar displays prominently at noon and requires only one adjustment a year, running on the IWC-manufactured calibre 52850 that's virtually wear-free thanks to a Pellaton winding system crafted using ceramic.

2. Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Heritage
If you like something a bit more retro, here's an icon re-made to outfit modern day gents — and ladies who love a strapping, masculine watch. With beige indices contrasted against a black dial, luminescent-coated blue hands and an all-new titanium frame (the first of its kind for the Big Pilot's Watches) this is a tidy looking timepiece that proves true to its aviation heritage. IWC Pilot's Watch technology equips the mechanical movement from being disrupted by magnetic fields with a soft-iron inner case, and a secured sapphire glass protects against displacement by air pressure drops.

The new models are available from November in IWC Schaffhausen boutiques and from authorised retailers, with the Big Pilot's Watch Annual Calendar Edition 'Antoine de Saint Exupéry' limited to 250 pieces.
