Nomos Glashutte dedicates a second limited edition timepiece to The Hour Glass Singapore
After a phenomenally successful first round, Nomos Glashutte and The Hour Glass Singapore are back once again with another jointly designed timepiece. Dedicated to our beautiful garden city so charmingly nicknamed the Little Red Dot, the Tangente 'Red Dot' 2018 continues where the Zurich Weltzeit Singapore, which was launched in 2017, left off.
The latest It watch among watch collectors and stylish millennials alike, the Nomos Glashutte Tangente balances simplicity with quality and has won numerous awards the world over. Neither too curvy not too angular, it epitomises the style of Nomos Glashutte like no other timepiece. One variation of the Tangente has also just been nominated for the Challenge Prize at the upcoming Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix.
It's German watchmaking with a touch of Singapore, yet the Tangente 'Red Dot' 2018 is a watch widely worn and globally appreciated. Isn't this such a perfect reflection of the cosmopolitan nature of our island nation? And horology too, because no matter where we are, where we come from, or indeed where we're going, we're all connected through our love of watches.
Look closely at the Tangente 'Red Dot' 2018 and you'll see that it's a charmer from all angles. The classic 38mm round case is paired with slender bezel and lugs that harmonises beautifully with the sober numerals in a condensed, elongated script. Straight baton style hands tell the time gracefully, while a discreet red dot at six o'clock is a little reminder of this city we call home. Simple, subtle and stylish – what more could we ask for? A high-quality movement? You got it.
On the inside, the Tangente 'Red Dot' 2018 runs on a manually-wound Alpha calibre. Thanks to the 43-hour power reserve, this gorgeously finished movement keeps going for two days without missing a beat. Its sapphire case back shows off tempered blue screws, Glashutte ribbing, perlage and sunburst decorative finishes. And did we mention that it's produced in-house? That's right, Nomos Glashutte uses its own movements in all its watches.
So the Tangente 'Red Dot' 2018 comes in two knockout styles – salmon pink and midnight blue – both of which are completely on-trend and at the same time, very gender-neutral. Each version is a 100-piece limited edition and retails for a wallet-friendly $3,200. The midnight blue model comes with a Horween Genuine Shell leather strap in Cordovan black while salmon pink is paired with Horween Essex cowhide in leather natural finish.
Available both online and in stores, the Tangente 'Red Dot' 2018 is exclusive to The Hour Glass and Watches of Switzerland.
