How she got started: With her cousin and two other friends from the church choir, Fernandez won the Girl Groups category on Rolling Good Times, a national talent show on television. When she was 16, she was performing in pays and musicals for the Singapore Repertory Theatre Young Company. At 18, she became part of hip-hop group Urban Xchange and was nominated at the 2002 MTV Asia Music Awards. She was also part of space-rock outfit, Parking Lot Pimp.
Notable achievements: As part of audio-visual collective Syndicate, Fernandez has performed on the opening day of the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Festival 2011 in France. She has also performed with veteran producer Jason Tan at the Singapore leg of the Worldwide Festival. As part of the duo Octover, they released their self-titled album in 2013. Her EP, Vandetta, was released in 2013. She performed at St. Jerome's Laneway Festival in Singapore in 2014, which was the first time in the festival's history where Singapore artists were included.
Something you might not have known about her: Fernandez has the phrase "Carpe Diem" tattooed on her ribs to remind herself to make life count.
