Name: Claire Jedrek
Date of birth: 21 September
Occupation: Race driver, presenter and co-founder of The Karting Arena
How she got started: She is known as Singapore's only female race car driver. After starting in 2014 with testing, training and looking for sponsors, she has not looked back. She extended her passion for motorsport by opening Singapore's only electric karting facility at Bukit Timah, The Karting Arena, with her husband. With a decade under her belt, she continues to present and emcee locally and internationally for lifestyle, sport and motorsport events.
Notable achievements: She clinched her first 2nd-place podium out of a grid of 48 cars at the Malaysian F1 support race in 2015. She was the first female in the Malaysian Championship Series to have made the podium. She was awarded Outstanding Achievement (Car) by the Singapore Motor Sports Association and has appeared in numerous publications and campaigns.
Something you might not have known about her: Somewhere down the line, she took part in the X-games Singapore for aggressive inline skating and was a b-girl with a local breakdance crew. For a laugh, search for Urban Xchange's Buzzin on Youtube and you might find her doing an air freeze.
A quote to sum it all up: Don't regret what you have done; regret what you haven't done.
