Guerlain has long been known as a luxury perfumery, beginning in France more than 200 years ago. But for its newest scent Mon Guerlain, the house has remained firmly in the present, tapping on none other than the elusive and elegant Angelina Jolie, to be the face of this scent. Mother, humanitarian and starlet, Jolie represents all the different notes of a woman, in the same way that the individual notes of a fragrance come together to create a spectacular, rich and intoxicating scent. Created by Guerlain's master perfumer Thierry Wasser, the new Mon Guerlain is in the words of Jolie, "My invisible tattoo." A fresh Oriental, this has just the right amount of sparkle and warmth to both entrance and delight. Mon Guerlain is rather distinctly, a scent for a woman — specifically a woman with authenticity, heart and drive.
Says Wasser, "Like my predecessors before me, my work is guided by a passion for fine craftsmanship, an admiration for the know-how of artisans, the authenticity of encounters and the sincerity of emotions." For Mon Guerlain, Wasser sourced ingredients from around the world. In the blend that makes up the fragrance are Carla lavender from Provence, Tahitensis vanilla from Papua New Guinea, santalum album sandalwood and Sambac jasmine from south India. He says, "We know every last detail about our jasmine, our sandalwood, our lavender and our vanilla, because we buy our raw materials from men and women we have met and whom I have come to know closely over time."
