Icon, coming through
For more than 100 years, Hilton's luxury brand, Waldorf Astoria, has remained the quintessential icon of luxury hospitality. The hotel isn't just famous for playing host to countless of celebrities (names like Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, as well as every sitting president of the United States), but also for its invention of culinary mainstays like the legendary Waldorf salad and red velvet cake.
Now, the illustrious New York landmark is setting its sights on Southeast Asia — starting with Bangkok, Thailand. Based in the heart of the bustling Ratchaprasong district, the hotel's structure will take on a shape of a dazzling magnolia flower (paying tribute to owners of the property, Magnolia Finest Corporation Limited) to tower over the entire city.
Apart from expecting unparalleled true Waldorf service, the property will showcase the finest in grandiose design. Think modern contemporary architecture meets Thai artisanal tradition. Three dining concepts held in the hotel's crown jewel will span the top three floors from levels 55 to 57, spearheaded by world-renowned design and concept firm AvroKO. Unlike any hotel spread, these unique restaurants comprise of a lounge and two bars, of which — guests can tuck into a newfound cuisine of Nordic Thai.
The critically acclaimed works of architect André Fu and his elite design studio AFSO will be also be revealed in the rest of the hotel — this includes a dreamy lobby replete with high ceilings, light-filled spaces, as well as the 171 luxurious guestrooms and suites.
We can hardly wait to see Thailand's latest hospitality icon in person.
