#TravelTuesday: The luxe hotel designed by Donatella Versace
Dubai is no stranger to luxury. The Burj Al Arab rises as the undisputed seven-star man-made marvel while the world's only gold-dispensing ATM serves the super rich who just want to buy a gold bar or two with their loose change.
As if Dubai isn't already laden with superlatives, the Palazzo Versace Dubai Hotel has opened its door on a prime waterfront plot boasting unobstructed views of Dubai Creek. The joint venture between fashion house Versace and UAE property developer Enshaa Group sees each of the 215 rooms in the luxurious hotel designed by none other than Versace's artistic director Donatella Versace herself.
With opulence as the name of the game, the property features elaborate manifestations of luxe right from the get-go. At the grand lobby, a 1,000 square metre marble mosaic floor greets visitors while bespoke furniture embellished with peacocks and falcons deck the lobby.
Needless to say, the fashion house's iconic motifs such as the Medusa head, Greek key, and legendary prints will feature throughout the property.
Besides the hotel, Palazzo Versace Dubai also plays host to 169 residences which range from bachelor-friendly one bedroom apartments to roomy six bedroom palaces.
