5 reasons to fly Singapore Airlines' new Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner
Greater heights
1. Personalised in-flight entertainment
Singapore Airlines' selection of more than 1,000 entertainment choices would have spoilt you good by now. Having to sieve through a neverending list of movies is probably more of an indulgence than a chore to you. But what if you could get straight to the fun — your fun — without trawling through an entire library of unsolicited content? Thanks to myKrisWorld, you can now enjoy content recommendations based on your preferences and viewing history. In addition, KrisFlyer members will also be able to bookmark and resume content, as well as customise and save preferences of subsequent flights.
2. In-flight Wi-Fi
You may not be a nomophobe, but who doesn’t appreciate round-the-clock access to Wi-Fi? The new B787-10s are equipped with in-flight Wi-Fi supported by Panasonic’s Global Commmunication Services and GSM phone services provided by Panasonic’s wholly owned subsidiary Aeromobile. In the (unlikely) event myKrisWorld's entertainment isn’t enough to satisfy. a whole network is out there waiting for you. Thank God.
3. Fully-flat beds
There's a reason why you aren't on cattle class. On the new business class, you can now recline your seat directly into a 76-inch fully-flat bed for greater comfort — even on a two-hour flight to Bangkok. Each seat measures up to 26 inches in width with retractable armrests that can be raised and lowered, while adjustable dividers at the centre seats promise a customised level of privacy to suit your individual preferences. Gone are the days of trampling over your neighbours and muttering apologetic requests to be excused. With the seats arranged in a forward-facing 1-2-1 staggered configuration, you can now enjoy direct aisle access and head to the loo without reservations.
4. Ergonomically-designed contour backrest
Arranged in a 3-3-3 configuration, each of the 301 economy class seats is fitted with an ergonomically-designed contour backrest for greater comfort — and additional health benefits you probably don’t get from your own chairs back at home. If the support wasn’t already enough, turn to your sides with the six-way adjustable headrest with foldable wings. There won’t be anymore swinging heads while you sleep.
5. Ample storage space
Storage is key, especially if you're OCD about putting your things in specific places. On economy class, look forward to smart spaces for small personal items, a coat hook, USB port and in-seat power supply. Over on business class, there's ample room for larger personal items, a business panel with in-seat power supply and USB ports, and an integrated reading light unit with adjustable lighting intensity.
