New hotels launching soon: Raffles Bali, Bvlgari Hotel Roma, Banyan Tree Group in Mexico, and more
After months of being cooped up at home due to the pandemic, many of us have been looking forward to finally planning our holidays in the foreseeable future. Singapore has also recently permitted hotels on our shores to open for staycations — another minor win to keep our hopes up as more borders begin to re-open and travel agencies preparing to host more avid travellers. After all, the planning somehow keeps our spirit alive. Whether you're waiting for a safer travel season to revist your favourite cities around the world or planning a quick getaway to a nearby resort, we're excited to announce that these brand new hotels will be opening soon. A heads-up to bookmark, especially if it's a holiday that feels like the first in a long, long time.
Hacienda Xcanatun by Angsana
Banyan Tree Group will re-open this Mexican resort in July 2020, which will be operated by its upscale brand, Angsana. Located in the heart of the Mexican peninsula, Merida, Yucatan, this hotel combines the 18th Century grandeur of its iconic Mexican plantation homes with modern luxury, accommodating guests in their 18 spacious suites. With four acres of private gardens and their renowned Yucatecan cuisine served in their "Casa de Piedra" restaurant, this hacienda is the place to immerse yourself in the colonially and culturally rich city of Merida.
Bali's got its fair share of famous resorts and world-class hotels, but our homegrown Raffles' launch of its lavish address is bound to set a new standard for luxury hotels and resorts. Perched on a hill that offers a breathtaking view of Jimbaran Bay and the Indian Ocean, indulge in 32 of the most gorgeous ocean view villas, away from the hustle and bustle of Jimbaran Beach. Enjoy traditional Balinese healing massages at the Raffles Spa, or even fishing trips, yoga sessions, and Balinese Dance Enchantment experiences if you're a more active traveller.
BVLGARI Hotel ROMA
Set to open in 2022, and poised to become a temple of Bvlgari heritage, the hotel itself is a nod to the luxury brand — an exceptional homage to the home of Bvlgari and its greatest source of inspiration. Located in the heart of the Campo Marzio neighbourhood, the hotel is minutes away from the famous Spanish Steps, Via del Corso and the Bvlgari flagship on Via Condotti. Not to mention it's also housed in a magnificent modernist building dating back to the 1930s, that faces Rome's iconic landmarks, such as the Ara Pacis and the Mausoleum of Augustus, the first Roman Imperator. Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito will also be curating the prestigious II Ristorante and The Bvlgari Bar, promising gourmands nothing short of perfection in this glamourous hideout.
