The wait is finally over. Joining The Capitol Kempinski Hotel in City Hall is another grandious abode — Grand Park City Hall. It has opened its doors in the heart of Singapore's Civic District, bridging elements of the old and new. As you walk into the main lobby, you are greeted with an unassuming façade. Losing the traditional check-in counters, guests are encouraged to download the integrated hotel's app onto their smartphone. That's right, a digital check-in with a quick selfie, along with a verification of your passport is all you need to complete the process. The app also works as a digital key to your room as well. You won't have to worry about losing those room cards anymore.

All rooms feature Peranakan pattern tiles and vintage statement pieces; along with technological in-room innovations such as wireless phone charging by the bedside as well as adjusting air conditioning and television settings directly from the smartphone app. For those who prefer a traditional route, the rooms are also fitted with a control panel that functions similarly to a regular remote control for all your room appliances. With a dedicated focus on hosting familes, there are rooms that offer interconnecting child-friendly rooms — giving parents a peace of mind and privacy all at the same time. Yet another potential hotel to cosy up this New Year's Eve. Bonus: you'll get to catch the fireworks without stepping out of your room.
