Beyond first class: VIP cabins by Mercedes-Benz Style and Lufthansa Technik
It's official: Mercedes-Benz is joining the mile-high club. The luxury brand's design arm has announced they are teaming up with Lufthansa Technik to roll out new concept designs for VIP cabins that might very well be game changers for the industry. If these concepts ever take flight, we're betting that the highlight of your next holiday will be the plane ride itself.
Forget run-of-the-mill cabins. The new dynamic design breaks away from traditional seating layouts and features luxe furnishings reminiscent of what you'll find in the interior of a Mercedes-Benz ride. Black panels conceal the plane's windows, giving the cabin a muted sense of elegance. State-of-the-art technology from Mercedes lends a helping hand here, as its Magic Sky innovation allow for the panels to be dimmed from transparent to black.
Prototypes of the cabin will debut at EBACE 2015 (European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition) in Geneva, where both companies will evaluate customer response and design details; hopefully that means we'll be seeing these designs up in the air soon.
