Belmond’s Venice Simplon-Orient-Express launches The Party — a train journey from Venice to London you’ll never forget
Up the glamour levels on your next vacation with Belmond's The Party, a brand-new, ultra-luxurious 1920s journey from Venice to London. This time-travelling ride is an ingenious way to soak in the revelry of your grandparents' (or great-grandparents') day, where fascinators and flapper dresses were ornaments to be adorned. Expect an intoxicating, heady 48 hours on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, as you get taken back to the chic parties of the past and get a taste of the carriages' legendary history.
The lead-up is in itself a spectacle. Guests gather at the Belmond Hotel Cipriani, on the charming island of Giudecca under an inky night sky. You'll be ushered into a top-secret location, fashioned as a speakeasy, where they will dance their hearts out before setting off the next day from Venice's Santa Lucia Station. The coveted ride then weaves through Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and France, through mist-swirled mountains, glistening lakes, and idyllic little towns. As the scenery changes on the outside, the party is raring up inside the storied carriages. Guests will be clad in flapper dresses and spats, while sipping on golden champagne in coupe glasses, with surprise entertainment and impromptu performances unfolding in front of their eyes. You'll be transported in time to the magic of that era, and indulging in a fabulous soiree that goes beyond your imagination.
The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express travels throughout Europe from March to November and embarks on the iconic route to Istanbul once a year. 2020 will herald the addition of three new Grand Suites on the train — to join the 17 original carriages that played a part in the famous trains of the 1920s. Decadence awaits, but you'll want to get your hands on those limited tickets right away.
