Aman to open its very first hotel in New York City
Amanjunkies, we've got exciting news. The super-luxury hotel group has recently announced their latest destination, and it's none other than The Big Apple. Situated in the heart of Manhattan at the crossroads of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street, overlooking Central Park, Aman New York will occupy the iconic Crown Building and is set to open in 2020. This marks the second Aman property in a city destination — the first being in Tokyo.
The urban sanctuary will comprise of 83 guest rooms and suites, and will also showcase the first urban Aman Residences, a collection of 20 palatial private homes. Think five-storey penthouses situated at the building's pinnacle, complete with both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as a party-friendly terrace. Read: Your next vacation home is calling.
In the true spirit of Aman's DNA, expect only the extraordinary from the abodes here. Designed by Aman's long-time collaborator and lead designer, renowned architect Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston, the rooms here will start at a spacious 750 sq ft and each have its own working fireplace. You certainly won't need to worry about a lack of space, or anything else for that matter. Its three-storey spa also boasts a glorious 25-metre indoor swimming pool, coupled with lavish daybeds and firepits.
Other state-of-the-art facilities include an Aman member's club, jazz club, cigar bar, piano bar, and a wine library.
