Leica commemorates its latest store opening at Marina Bay Sands with a limited edition camera
When you walk into the latest Leica store to open in Singapore, you'll see the walls lined with photos of Marina Bay Sands — quite possibly a Singapore icon that has now surpassed the mythical Merlion. Taking its place alongside other luxury heavyweights such as Gucci and Prada, it's no surprise Leica has chosen this architectural landmark to house its fourth concept store in Singapore.
The 948 square-foot store might be smaller than its counterpart over at the Raffles Hotel Arcade, but it has managed to carve out an in-store studio that allows photographers to tinker around with Leica's suite of handsome cameras and imaging equipment.
If you're dropping by the store, ask to see the Leica M-P 240 Marina Bay Sands camera, a limited edition model you wouldn't find in any other Leica store the world over. Created to commemorate the launch of the store itself, the camera boasts a silver leatherette skin and Leica Summilux-M 1:1.4/35mm ASPH lens. Take a closer look and you'll find a silhouette of the Marina Bay Sands skyline and lion symbol engraved on the body of the camera. With only 18 units in production, this rare camera will retail exclusively at Leica's Marina Bay Sands outlet.
