Step aside Instagram and Pinterest, Facebook is the latest social media site to integrate e-commerce into its users' feeds

Word on the street is that social media giant Facebook is about to shake up the e-commerce world. While still in the developmental phase, Buzzfeed News confirmed that Facebook is currently developing an integrated shopping function that will allow users to buy products directly off brand pages. The feature is currently being tested by a niche group of users and will add another layer to the consumer experience by allowing brands and e-commerce sites to sell and feature their products within their Facebook Pages.

"With the shop section on the page, we're now providing businesses with the ability to showcase their products directly on the page," said Facebook product marketing manager Emma Rodgers in an interview with BuzzFeed News.

Mobile users will find the 'Shop' feature displayed immediately underneath the 'About' section, while desktop users will find it displayed as a tab alongside the 'About' and 'Photo' sections on brand pages. Our fingers are already hovering above our smartphones and laptops in anticipation.
