If you've gone through your entire Netflix library and you're sick of eyeballing the four walls of your humble abode, it's a sure sign you need to get out. And since flying isn't necessarily the safest or most viable option in the midst of a global pandemic, getting out no longer means taking a much needed (and wanted) vacation in another country. Instead, getting out has been redefined by the pandemic as venturing out of your dwellings and having a go at discovering the undiscovered on our island.

Luckily for us, the government announced last month that all Singaporean citizens aged 18 years and above will receive $100 worth of SingapoRediscovers Vouchers. The vouchers are digitally accessible via SingPass, and can be used on staycations, leisure attractions, and local tours. These tickets to explore our backyard are slated to be used from December 2020 till end-June 2021, with the full details still in the works and further information released in November. That doesn't mean you can't start planning for your vacation break now, considering places and reservations might be snapped up quickly. To help kickstart your local holiday, we've gathered some ideas to use the vouchers if you're suffering from cabin fever.

Book a well-deserved staycation

Hotel stays are all the rage right now, with many offering up discounts and packages to provide a change of pace (and view). From couple deals to 'WFH' (work from hotel, not home) packages, hotels are proffering up some of the best deals yet.

Marina Bay Sands Hotel Workation

Pack up your home office and indulge in a luxurious work office with Marina Bay Sands' workation package deal. In addition to a discounted price, you can get complimentary dining credits and other benefits during your stay.

Sentosa Staycation

There're no plans for Maldives or Bali in our itinerary for this year, but that doesn't mean we can't relax at an island paradise. Sip iced tea at an oasis with a staycation package at Capella Singapore and get rewarded with discounted prices, complimentary resort activities, and a breakfast bundle for two.
