Odette welcomes a German invasion for three nights only and we’re all invited
A Sühring affair
If wurst, sauerkraut and schnitzel ignite a burning pang from the pits of your belly, well... you're in luck. Identical twin chefs, Thomas and Mathias Sühring, of the Bangkok-based German restaurant Sühring, are coming to town for an exciting collaboration with two Michelin-star restaurant Odette.
Listed as no. 13 on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2017 list and barely a year into its operations, Sühring has earned its repertoire of bringing the best of modern German cuisine to the vibrant city of Bangkok. Using seasonal ingredients and traditional techniques like fermentation, pickling, smoke drying and curing, the Sühring twins have made their presence known with standout plates like Himmuel and Erde (crispy potatoes accompanied with black pudding) and Spätzle, a type of pasta found in Southern Germany.
"Sühring is one of the best restaurants in Bangkok. Thomas and Mathias take an interesting and unconventional approach to creating their style of Modern German cuisine," says Chef Julien Royer, chef-owner of Odette.
What to expect from this French-German stint? Look forward to signatures like the Toast and Hawaii (an iconic pineapple and Maraschino-topped ham and cheese open sandwich), the Brotzeit, and Omas Eierlikör (a traditional German eggnog) made from the twins' grandmother's secret recipe. These delights are all part of a 10-course dinner that you're more than welcome to partake of — inclusive of snacks curated from all the chefs. We guarantee you'll be leaving with a big smile on your face.
The Odette x Sühring 10-course dinner will run from 1st to 3rd August. Reservations are welcome here.
