Nike’s Air VaporMax puts a spring into your daily workout
On cloud nine
Nike's latest pair of running shoes — the Air VaporMax — is the closest you'll ever get to walking on air. Imagine an air bubble sole on your Air Max; granted, it looks a tad strange at first glance, but we admit that the look has grown on us since (especially since we saw the collaboration with Comme des Garcons earlier this year).
This stylish offering is Nike's lightest and most flexible pair of running shoes yet, thanks to seven years of innovation and new technologies that have allowed the Nike VaporMax Air unit to act as a standalone outsole. It also comes with a Flyknit upper that seamlessly integrates areas of high breathability, stretch, and support where most needed. By shedding the weight and bulk of a foam layer, the ingenious midsole achieves greater flexibility and spring without compromising structure, while also reducing weight and waste. The pillowy sensation adds a spring into your step and a bounce into your daily workout. Our pick? The new chrome blush colourway, which only recently hit stores as part of a collection that aims to empower women through innovation as they push their boundaries through sport. It doesn't just look achingly on point when you run, but is also a definite head turner even when you board a plane or walk into a café.
The Nike Air Vapormax retails at $269. Available at Nike Paragon, Shaw, and VivoCity.
