Le Petit Chef at Grand Hyatt Singapore: The world's smallest chef returns to our shores at La Cave
Le Petit Chef first made waves with its innovative storytelling back in 2010, with the spotlight of 3D mapping out the world's smallest chef (because technically, the fellow is probably tinier than your average salt and pepper shaker). The trick lies in overhead projectors above the diners as they bring the adorable chef/figure/animation to life — even to the awe-inspiring extent of casting his shadow onto the tablecloth.
The fictional but absolutely passionate Frenchman might be enabled by technology, but the theatrics he later puts on the dinner table is granted, a believable scene where he lives through the journey of Marco Polo's expeditions, just to serve up an epic meal right before the diners' eyes. Across oceans and continents, powered by light projections, props, and apt music, one could say your meal is easily a five-star performance akin on the stage. Just that, this show comes with plates of delicious food.
Following Le Petit Chef's successful debut in Singaopre earlier this year at Fullerton Bay Hotel's La Brasserie, the petite chef is back for a second pop-up. This time, he's staying a little longer at Grand Hyatt Singapore's exclusive wine cellar La Cave at mezza9.
Harmonised with Grand Hyatt Singapore's executive sous chef Steffan Heerdt and his team, four exclusive menus have been created — comprising of Middle Eastern, Indian, and Chinese influences. Within, there's also a special kid's menu as well as a full-fledged vegan route. After all, if anyone resonates with being different, it's this peculiar chef.
Le Petit Chef at Grand Hyatt Singapore willl run from 5 September to 30 December. The four menus: Marco Polo's Journey ($188++), Marco Polo's Expedition ($288++), Marco Polo's Kid's Adventure for children age 4 to 12 ($88), and Marco Polo's Vegan Voyage ($188++), will be available daily for lunch and dinner.
