When new British meets new German

We know what you're doing this week. Jaan's Chef de cusine, Kirk Westaway will be collaborating with renowned chef Joachim Wissler of three Michelin-starred Vendôme. 

Recognised as one of Germany's top chefs, Chef Joachim is branded for his development of 'New German Cuisine.' He fuses classical cuisine with a dose of creativity and modernity, while pushing the boundaries for new and forgotten ingredients, techniques and flavours. Timely enough, Joachim collaborates with Kirk — who has also recently embarked on his culinary journey of 'Reinventing British'. What will they bring to the table? Only the finest seasonal produce for their innovative menu.

What's on the menu: Savour Chef Kirk's highly photogenic English Garden, inspired by childhood memories of his hometown of Devon in the UK. The multi-coloured vegetable "garden" is served with a Scottish seaweed and herb broth in a custom-made watering can. Simply "water" your own garden with this light broth before tucking in. This will be followed by Chef Joachim's langoustine and sweet potato accompanied by a refreshing carrot lime nage, cucumber jelly and spiced almond emulsion; as well as his grilled Gillardeau Rock Oyster, jazzed up with Kristal caviar and partnered with green apple and German wheat beer foam. Mains wise, Joachim's wagyu beef entrecote is served with bone marrow, beetroot, and sweet corn. The dinner menu also features Kirk's sublime line caught turbot with purple artichoke purée.
