IKEA for Business presents their new and improved office space as a showcase
It has been a process — and an enduring one to say the least — but we're slowly picking up to where we left off before the pandemic hit. However, with the global impact of the virus, a couple of insurmountable changes have arisen for the future. An obvious one? The way we work, how we work, and where we work.
And it was exactly why IKEA Singapore's office decided to do an entire makeover of redesign, a do-over of sorts, not just to meet social distancing measures but to also be an inviting space for employees to come back to. With this renewed premise in place for its own staff experience, the brand has also made investments in reinvigorating their offering to organisations and businesses. Their service, IKEA for Business is now offering to bring together the best of their famed interior design and project coordination expertise to help other companies make-over their workplaces as employees begin their return back to the offices.
Any business from restaurants to childcare centres can stand to gain from a spiffy makeover — into a place that's comfortable and productive. IKEA for Business takes care of everything from interior planning and project coordination to delivery and installation. Plus, most of us can probably testify to the creativity and innovation that the Swedish brand embodies — just by strolling through their stores. Every trip there has always been quite a joyride — even if there's nothing affirmative on your to-buy list.
Their new office boasts a layout that incorporates hot desking. Possibly a flexible trend that we'll only see more from here on out. No more sitting at the same old desk with the same people around, now their staff can choose whatever desk they want by booking through an app for half a day, a day or however long they want to.
Closed private rooms for confidential discussions are also available, with a choice of professional seating or plushy seats with couches and pillows. There's also access to soundproof meeting pods for any virtual meetings or quick calls — all of the above fully equipped with plugs and chargers.
Things that go above and beyond? A dedicated nursing room equipped with privacy screens and a fridge for mothers to attend to their baby duties while in the office. And if you ever want to get a change of clothes, this office has a spacious chamber to freshen up for the day.
