The music-streaming app has expanded its aural horizons with dedicated features geared to pump up your next workout

Every runner needs his or her playlist, usually a selection of upbeat music to get the adrenaline going. It's a bore to have the same songs on loop every other day and Spotify has gone out of their way to ensure that your workout will always get a boost with the freshest soundtrack.

Yesterday, Spotify unveiled a number of exciting features that venture outside of your typical music-streaming app. The new additions include a running man button that, when pressed, detects your running pace and pairs it with tempo-appropriate songs.

Spotify will also be releasing tracks created specifically for runners. These songs are calibrated in a new file format that adjusts the tempo of the track itself to keep pace with your running tempo. With collaborators like EDM powerhouse Tiesto on board, we're looking forward to hearing some solid tunes the next time we hit the tracks.

The new Spotify Running features will first roll out on the Spotify app for iOS for users in the U.S., U.K., Germany, and Sweden. More information can be found here
