This upcoming hotel in London will pay tribute to music legends like Jimi Hendrix, Madonna, Stevie Wonder, and more
House of fame
The Hard Rock Hotel brand has been known to be a stickler for immortalising the names of legendary musicans within their sacred halls. Not that we're complaning. It is, after all, where the epochal remnants of fame, fortune and immense talent get to live on.
Now, they have set their sights in London, and given us a peek at the upcoming abode that will open in 2019.
Built in one of London's most prestigious locations (on the corner of Oxford Street and Park Lane), the hotel will take over what used to be The Cumberland, which was a hot bed for many famous guests — including the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Diana Ross, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Madonna, and many more. Honouring the legacy of its previous residents, Hard Rock Hotel London will house an incredible memorabilia collection dotted around the property as well as a symbolic vault to hold more than 80,000 historical pieces. We're expecting a major gawk fest at past performing outfits and priceless guitars.
"Hard Rock is a world-class institution where contemporary style and comfort meets rock star service. This building has stood at the intersection of British music and fashion since the 1930s and when we open in Spring 2019, it's sure to become a go-to London hotspot once again," says Oliver Kahf, general manager of Hard Rock Hotel London.
When it comes down to interiors, the house of fame isn't just decadent but veritably massive, boasting a grand total of 1000 stylish rooms and suites, along with two luxurious bars and of course, the Hard Rock Café. Diners can look forward to a menu of classic American cuisine, spruced with a quintessential British twist.
Come 2019, we're definitely humming 'London Calling'...
