This Xiaomi and Lamborghini go-kart is our current dream ride
More than child's play
In the realm of today's fashion industry, no collaboration seems too out of this world. 2020 has seen the release of several limited edition collaborations — including a blend between high fashion and athleisure in Prada for Adidas. Keep thinking out of the box: have you seen a go-kart for sale, co-created by two brands you thought you'd never see on the same sentence together? Say hello to the Ninebot GoKart Lamborghini Edition.
This unlikely pairing sees Chinese electronic company Xiaomi go toe-to-toe with Italian luxury automobile giant Lamborghini — to release a go-kart in a shade resembling the iconic Huracán, as part of Xiaomi's 10th anniversary celebrations.
Even though this Lamborghini goes at a fraction of the speed of the ones you see blazing up the roads, it is much smaller and lighter than the regular Ninebot Gokart, and travels a full 5km per hour faster, up to about 40km per hour. The 432Wh battery pack within is good to go for 62 laps on a 400m race track with a single charge. And if you were concerned about its compact size, don't underestimate this machine — it can carry a load of up to 100kg.
Slated for release in China, it won't be soon before we see a wider global release in the future. At roughly S$2000, it is the cheapest Lamborghini you'll ever find — hopefully we'll see this yellow bad boy making its rounds in Singapore soon.
