Uniqlo wants you to take their latest Lifewear collection from the gym to the streets
There's a distinguishable function behind every Uniqlo collaboration — even with numerous alliances with a spectrum of designers, there hasn't been a single incident of the lines being blurred.
Hana Tajima made modestwear relevant again, Ines de la Fressange always managed to keep us sated with French finesse, while J.W. Anderson had the masses giddy with his Brit boy execution. Now, Uniqlo's latest Lifewear collection sees yet another collaboration with SPRZ NY (Surprise New York) — a global project aimed to bridge the gap between clothes and art, by tapping various artists around the globe for limited edition designs.
In the case of the latest SPRZ NY release, it's all about making activewear creative and fun, just so that wearers can carry on in the same threads for pre/post-workout activities. From an intense zumba session to brunching in style with the girlfriends, it's that easy. The high-function Lifewear lineup includes DRY-EX T-shirts, Airism leggings, pocketable parkas, sports bras as well as other lightweight pieces. Constructed from advanced fibre technologies that wick away moisture and embody breathability, all the pieces were made for movement.
Works of French contemporary painter, Francois Morellet; Finnish artist, Niko Luoma; and Dutch graphic design studio, Experimental Jetset, are exhibited through the range — revealing motifs of motions and bright pops of colours. Below, peruse Buro's favourite picks from the collection.
Uniqlo's SPRZ NY Lifewear collection is now available in all stores and online.
