Nike kicks off the 2016 Olympics with new summer colourways
Flora & fauna
August in Rio de Janeiro is set to sizzle with some of the finest athletes the world over. It'll no doubt be a summer of high-octane action, thanks in no small part to the Olympic games. As dream teams strive to redefine their personal best, the good folk over at Nike are marking the occasion with a splash of summer colours on its suite of cool kicks.
Drawing inspiration from the natural world, the designers at Nike have layered the new colourways with plenty of influences from Mother Nature. Think birds with colour-shifting feathers, beetles with futuristic shells, and insects arranged like precious jewels.
The idea is for athletes to strap on these shoes and let their swift limbs set off a riot of colours to paint a subtle glowing path. What a way to ring in the games.
The Olympic colourway for the Nike Flyknit Elite, Nike Train Ultrafast Flyknit, Nike LunarEpic Flyknit, Nike Air Zoom KD9, Nike Free TR Focus Flyknit, and NikeCourt Air Zoom Ultrafly are available from August 4 at nike.com and Nike Shaw.
