Over in New York, Ballet-inspired workouts have seen the trendiest Upper East-siders perched on their toes, all in the name of a leaner, toner, ballerina-like physique. Given the merits of this graceful and powerful sculpting exercise, it's surprising that barre workouts have yet to take off in Singapore even if we're gradually seeing more women (and even some men) gravitating towards, well, the barre.
You don't have to be a dancer to enrol in a class. With Xtend Barre, a ballet and pilates-based workout originating from the United States, you'll work through exercises calibrated to condition the small muscle groups in your arms, back, abs, glutes, and legs. Stiff as a mummy? A session at the barre will help in the flexibility department as well.
Curious to give it a whirl? As part of the Armenian Street Party celebrations, the good folk from Upside Motion will be holding two complimentary Xtend Barre sessions across the 11th and 12th of March. As each session can accommodate only 60 people, be sure to save yourself a spot here.
