World Vegan Month: Best plant-based dishes and restaurants in Singapore
Green is the New Black
Most might ring in November as a jolly filler period till Christmas comes around, but it is in fact, a victorious time for the plant-based. Stemming from a day of what we used to know as World Vegan Day (1 November), the notion of green-eating has now expounded to the entire month. Following last weekend's The Conscious Festival series of talks on climate change and living consciously, co-founder Stephanie Dickson recommends where to go and what to order while on the hunt for some seriously good vegan grub on our shores.
"The Beyond Sausage Hot Dog at Oasis, Grand Hyatt Singapore tops my list. The hot dogs are made of 100% plant-based ingredients and wrapped in a house made vegan bun finished with dill pickled cucumbers, shallots, with tarragon, mustard and tomato sauce, and served with a side of cabbage and French fries."
"Lime Restaurant's Omnipork Patty with Barbeque Sauce is absolutely delicious. The patty is accompanied by fried mantou and fluffy white rice, and PARKROYAL on Pickering has an extensive plant-based menu with creative and comfort food dishes."
"Dumpling Darling's Veggie Manu dumplings are amazing in every way — a flavoursome mash-up of spinach, tofu, shiitake and Korean pickles to satisfy carb cravings."
"I've been really impressed with Pizza Express' commitment to plant-based dining. They have developed an entire vegan menu called Verde with creative salads, pizzas and pastas."
"For sweet treats, Chairman's Bubur Char-Char at Empress is a sure shot winner. This dessert is honestly the most bizarre assortment of flavours but its insanely good. It fizzles, pops and soothes in your mouth."
"If you're travelling, I strongly recommend abillionVeg — an app that will help you find the very best vegan dishes in over 100 countries around the world."
