Usher in the festivities this December with some holiday cheer and delectable booze. The Whisky Journey — Singapore's first island-wide bar and restaurant whisky trail — is set to debut over the course of 10 days from 11 to 20 December. Organised by one of the pioneer stores in the local whisky scene, The Whisky Store, the event offers differential tasting experiences by pairing a range of whisky distilleries to 15 various restaurants and bars around Singapore. Originally planned as a two-day weekend back in May, the pivotal event has been reconceptualised to suit the health and safety needs of the consumer, as well as pushing the boundaries to reinvigorate a suffering F&B industry amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Each of the respective venues will offer the exclusive opportunity to taste whiskies from family-owned boutique distilleries or acclaimed international brands - such as Bunnahabhain and Loch Lomond - alongside a distinct tasting menu at each bar or restaurant. All venue staff will also have been trained adequately to ensure they will best be able to guide you along, from tasting insights to sharing more about the distilleries. This fully immersive experience will also provide guests with the familiar sense of being abroad; by travelling from bar to restaurant, the individual is exposed to a diverse selection of whiskies from around the world.

The all-new Whisky Journey aims to present a unique set of whisky experiences that will also be in support of more local F&B bars and other businesses. This means fostering collaborative opportunities between homegrown businesses and international distilleries and broadening local appreciation of the alcoholic drink.

According to the founder of The Whisky Store, Mr Chua Khoon Hui, himself: "Whisky Journey's 10-day restaurant and bar trail weaves these two aims together, by elevating the local whisky culture and appreciation through unique experiences at homegrown bars and restaurants. With these exciting partnerships between international distilleries and our local establishments, we hope to continue sparking whisky appreciation in Singapore and stand together with the rest of the F&B industry in times of adversity."

All guests can expect to find something special for themselves: be it a classic time at stalwart bars like Cable Car 1890's Saloon and the lively Wala Wala Cafe Bar, or a discovery of newer spots like the Malts or The Writing Club. And the whisky options are endless: with over 300 whiskies set to present itself, plus a wide range of rare and exclusive inaugural Whisky Journey bottlings from brands such as Tomatin, Duncan Taylor and Glen Scotia.

Of course, various bottlings will be made available for purchase, and free pours will be extended beyond the event till 30 December 2020 to ensure that all guests will enjoy the opportunity to taste all their drams. You are highly encouraged to make a reservation before visiting each partner bar or restaurant.

Early Ticket passes for the tour will retail at $32, with passes purchased at the door retailing at $45. Purchase your tickets here.
