20 female bartenders go head-to-head for a good cause at the first-ever Speed Rack Asia 2017
Ladies, start your engines
Speed Rack Asia 2017 is here. No, it's not a carpentry challenge by The Furniture Trust, but rather a competition that pulls together 20 of Asia's sharpest bartending talents under one roof — and the men are not invited.
Conceptualised by bartending maestros Ivy Mix and Lynnette Marrero, the Speed Rack competition first saw American-based female bartenders shaking down the house with their most creative cocktails. Besides aiming to raise the profile of female bartending talent, the competition also rides on an altruistic intent to raise funds for foundations and charities that support breast cancer research and education.
Come 12 March, Speed Rack Asia will make its Asian debut right here in Singapore. Over at The Great Escape in Golden Mile Tower, 20 bartenders from Singapore, Sydney, Hong Kong, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, and Seoul will go head-to-head in a series of challenges that'll test their speed, precision, and flair behind the bar.
Keen to catch all the action? Drop by The Great Escape from 11am to 5pm. Cocktails and grub from Park Bench Deli will go on sale as well, with all proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Foundation.
